The operating software infrastructure is updated regularly with the latest security
patches. The web site runs on a Kallidus dedicated network which is locked down
with firewalls and is actively monitored.
This is a service hosted on servers managed by Rackspace (www.rackspace.com) – the
world’s leader in hosting. The Rackspace Data Centre used by Kallidus is located
in London, UK.
Keycard protocols, biometric scanning protocols and round-the-clock interior and
exterior surveillance monitor access to the data centre. Only authorised data centre
personnel are granted access credentials. No-one enters the production area without
prior clearance and an appropriate escort. Every Data Centre employee undergoes
multiple and thorough background security checks before they’re hired.
The Data Centre’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning system is N+1 redundant.
This ensures that a duplicate system immediately comes online should there be a
system failure. Every 90 seconds all the air in the Data Centre is circulated and
filtered to remove dust and contaminants. Advanced fire suppression systems are
designed to stop fires from spreading in the unlikely event one should occur.
Should a total power outage occur the Data Centre power systems are designed to
run uninterrupted, with every server receiving conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible
Power Supply) power. The UPS power subsystem is N+1 redundant, with instantaneous
failover if the primary UPS fails. If an extended power outage occurs, routinely
tested, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely.
Fully redundant, enterprise-class routing equipment is used in Rackspace data centres.
Multiple network carriers enter the Data Centre at disparate points to guard against
service failure.
Rackspace networking and security teams are certified and are thoroughly experienced
in managing and monitoring enterprise level networks.
